The World's Best Skylines
There are certainly a lot of cities that could be included in the
discussion of who has the best skyline. Below I've included what I believe to be
the world's most beautiful skylines taking into consideration the height of the
buildings, the architecture involved, & the surrounding natural scenery.
(In alphabetical order)
Chicago,
Illinois
Chicago is home to America's tallest building, the Sears Tower. And its downtown
is situated along the coast of Lake Michigan, both of which give Chicago its
first-rate skyline.

Dallas, Texas
Dallas's skyline is regarded as the best in Texas, with its most distinctive
building in the Dallas skyline is Reunion Tower known locally as 'The Ball'.
It's home to a revolving restaurant at the top.

Frankfurt, Germany
No other European city makes this list, & rightly so as Frankfurt is the only
city on the continent deserving. Home to one of the largest financial districts
in Europe, the skyline benefits from the added element of the River Main.

Giza,
Egypt
While not boasting a beautiful skyline in the traditional sense, it has
something no other city does, the pyramids!

Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia
While the Petronas Towers may not be the world's tallest buildings anymore, they
are still quite iconic, & the skyline of Kuala Lumpur surely does not
disappoint.

Miami, Florida
It may not have the tallest buildings, but it has some colorful ones, & a warm
ocean breeze.

Montreal, Quebec
Montreal is one of the world's more beautiful cities, & the city lights are not
a let down as any trip up Mont Royal can attest.

New
York City,
New York
There are so many symbolic buildings that make up New York, the Empire State,
Chrysler Building, Rockefeller Center, all of these give New York a beautiful
skyline.

Paris, France
Paris has the Eiffel Tower & the Arc de Triomphe, & that's all it needs.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Situated on the Delaware River, Philadelphia has a distinctive blend of old &
modern architecture.

Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania
Known as 'The Bridge Capital' of the United States, Pittsburgh's downtown is
located on a triangular parcel of land situated between the confluence of two
rivers..

Rio
de Janeiro, Brazil
Rio doesn't have the buildings that a lot of the other places have, but Rio has
the natural beauty. There aren't many places in the world that have a more
beautiful setting than this city.

San
Francisco,
California
One of the prettiest cities in the world, renowned for its steep hills, &
diverse mix of Victorian & modern architecture. San Francisco is home to some
iconic American landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, & the
Trans-America building.

Seattle, Washington
Located on the Puget Sound, Seattle's most defining landmark is the Space
Needle. Built for the 1962 World's Fair, the building has been symbolic of the
city ever since.

Shanghai, China
By far the most futuristic skyline to make the cut. Shanghai is the center of
the Chinese economic boom & its skyline clearly represents that.

Sydney, New South
Wales
Home to the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Tower, & Harbour Bridge. Sydney is
located on the largest natural harbor in the world.

Tokyo, Japan
The world's largest city, Tokyo has a hectic & confusing skyline lacking in
iconic structures. But where Tokyo shines is its grandeur, just the sheer scale
of it all. I recommend a visit to the observation deck of the Tokyo Metropolitan
Government Building for any skyline connoisseur.

Toronto, Ontario
Located on the shore on Lake Ontario, Toronto is home to the world's second
tallest freestanding structure, the CN Tower. The structure hosts the highest
public observation deck in the world.

1.
Hong Kong,
China
Hong Kong has the most beautiful skyline in the world, hands down. The view of
Hong Kong Island across the Victoria Harbor from Kowloon is unsurpassed in awe
inducement. The city has that rare blend of both man made & natural beauty. And
there are so many ways to experience the exquisiteness of the skyline. You can
take a walk along the Avenue of Stars in Tsim Sha Tsui, you can take the Star
Ferry across the harbor, or you can take the tram to Victoria Peak & see it all
from a different angle.

Honorable mention:
Dubai,
UAE

Las Vegas,
Nevada

Panama City, Panama

Shenzhen, China
