Visas: A passport, visa and evidence of yellow fever vaccination are required for entry. Some travelers arriving in the DRC without proper proof of yellow fever vaccination have been temporarily detained, had their passports confiscated, or been required to pay a fine. Visas must be obtained from an embassy of the DRC prior to arrival. 
Health risks: Malaria is common throughout the DRC and outbreaks of cholera, typhoid, yellow fever, the Ebola virus, and hemorrhagic fever occur. Travelers should take appropriate precautions to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS.
