Hayman Island, Australia
Previous Page
Hayman is Australia's most celebrated private island destination. Hayman
Island is an award-winning five-star resort complemented by a warm and sincere
community of 500 employees, within a breathtaking natural environment.
Hayman Island
Hayman is a continental island of some 726 acres. The resort is
located on the southerly shore fronted by a sweeping sandy beach and
surrounded by 34 acresof lush tropical gardens. Beyond the beach lies an
800 metre wide sand flat with fringing coral reef that is exposed at low
tide revealing interesting coral formations and an array of marine life.
Guests may catch sight of Hayman's colony of Proserpine Rock Wallabies and,
during an island walk, experience natural bushland and Australian flora and
fauna. Hayman is also home to families of swans and ducks who reside in the
resort's lagoons. All are integrated into a beautiful landscape, which is a
blend of manicured gardens meandering throughout the resort and rugged bushland
into which guests can venture on a fascinating island walk to scenic lookouts
and exquisite beaches.
The Resort
Surrounded by idyllic coral fringed beaches and lapping the waters of
the Coral Sea, on the south-western side of the island, Hayman offers 244 guest
rooms, suites, penthouses and a beach villa. The accommodation, restaurants,
guest service areas, marine facilities and operational plant have been designed
to blend in with the natural beauty of the surroundings. No part of the resort
is higher than four stories and throughout, shady ponds and gentle waterfalls
thread their way among beautiful gardens, spacious walkways and open-air lanais.
Access
The most convenient way of traveling to Hayman is via Great Barrier
Reef Airport (Hamilton Island) where Hayman's launches, seaplanes and
helicopters connect with all incoming and outgoing commercial flights. A member
of the Hayman team greets guests on arrival at Great Barrier Reef Airport and
arranges for the transfer of guest luggage from flights to the connecting
launch, seaplane and helicopter transfers to Hayman. On arrival at Hayman, the
luggage will be delivered directly to the guest room, suite, villa or penthouse.
