 Mai Mona Island, French Polynesia
Previous Page

Mai Moana Island is not a hotel. It is a small private island where the owner has lived with his family for 15 years. The owner has built his home on the island in addition to three bungalows where he receives tourists who wish to spend a few days in his company in this small special world which is his motu.

 Bungalows
All our bungalows are located close to the waterline. In this paradisiac setting, completely different from your everyday life, you will discover all the comfort you need. There is hot water heated by a solar energy system and electricity provided by a generator. The generator works only between 7.00am and 8.00am and in the evening between 6.00pm and 10.00pm, yet there are battery lights in the bungalows so you can have your light when you need it.

Our bungalows are spacious and consist of a bedroom, a dressing room, a bathroom with hot water and a terrace. They are also equipped with a television-set.

 Meals and Drinks
In the morning we will serve breakfast consisting of tea or coffee, fruit juice, bread, butter and jam.

If you have chosen full-board, you will be served a tropical lunch; we call it tropical as it is light and simple - a homemade pizza, a hot sandwich, a salmon tourte... A fruit or a dairy dessert to finish your meal.

Dinner is composed of an entrée, a main dish and a dessert. We serve mainly fish (mahi mahi, tune or salmon) but also meat and poultry.

The menus are always chosen and prepared by us. We must depend on the provisions available which are often limited. If you have dietary restrictions, let us know in advance and we will try to take it into account.

We can serve you the most popular aperitifs: whisky, pastis, martini or gin. We have also some wines: a bordeau, a côtes du Rhone, the rosé de Provence, a Muscadet.

 Transfers
We will meet you at the Bora Bora airport and transfer to our island. You will be welcomed with a drink and then accompanied to your bungalow.

 Activities
The nicest thing you can do on Mai Moana is nothing. The beach, the lagoon, and enjoying tasty meals fill up the whole day for most of our clients. Yet you can also have a walk to the reef – on foot – or paddle around in a kayak that is at your disposal on our motu.

You can also participate in the activities available on Bora Bora such as scuba diving, touring around the island in a pirogue during which you can feed sharks and meet rayas, a helicopter flight above the lagoon, a short yacht cruise, a jeep excursion... All these activities are organized by professionals and are charged separately.
