Mai Moana, French Polynesia Location: Part of the Society Islands archipelago, Bora Bora is about 175 miles north-west of Tahiti. The famous lagoon surrounding Bora Bora is encircled by a coral reef and a string of white-sand motu (tiny islets). Surrounding: The warm shallow water of Bora Bora's lovely lagoon is world famous for its unspoilt beauty. An almost unbroken expanse of warm, white sand surrounds the island, providing it with a white colour of perfection for sun worshippers. The small resort island of Mai Moana is situated in the most beautiful part of the Bora Bora Lagoon and only a 5 minute boat ride from the main island. The motu of Mai Moana is so small it takes just five minutes to circumnavigate. Accommodation: There are three guest bungalows, each sleeping 2 people. They are spacious, comfortable and very well-equipped with large beds, hot water, a mini-bar, a coffee maker, a telephone, a TV-set and a hairdrier. If you wish to enjoy total solitude just for a few days or if you like to be on the island with only your friends, without being disturbed by strangers, separated from all others, you may rent the whole island. Electricity is produced by generators and solar power, water is piped from the main island. Dining: In therestaurant you will be served a tasty breakfast and a cold lunch at noon. In the evening you will dine at a beautifully set table and drink from glasses made of real crystal - the French dishes and Polynesian specialities will delight you . All drinks are provided at extra cost. Just imagine shrimps in coconut milk or real tournedos Rossini. Honeymoon couples may enjoy privacy and have their meal alone if they wish - we can arrange for them a candlelight dinner on the beach... We stock always the following wines: Chardonnay, Muscadet, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, un Bordeaux doux, un Bordeaux rouge, Cotes du Rhone, Bourgogne, Rosé de Provence... if not found the wine you usually drink...order your wine when booking! Activities & daytrips: There are lots of things to do on Bora Bora which may help you occupy your time in a very pleasant way and we can arrange them for you: scuba diving, tour around the island in a pirogue during which you can feed sharks and meet rayas, a helicopter flight above the lagoon, a short yacht cruise, a jeep excursion... All these activities are organized by professionals and are charged separately. We can organize for you a tahitian wedding. On Mai Moana Island you will be treated as a friend and served as a prince. How to get there: From all major airports in the Pacific rim (Sydney, Auckland, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Tokyo) there are numerous direct flights each week to Papeete, the capital of French Polynesia on Tahiti. Beside local charter companies, there are numerous daily flights directly from Tahiti to Bora Bora.
