Slipper Island is one of New Zealand's few privately owned islands. Guests
are offered the exclusive use of the Lodge or a private chalet on the water's
edge with beautiful white sandy beaches a stone throw away. Situated within easy
commuting distance of Auckland, Rotorua and Taupo, Slipper Island is the place
to relax in privacy and yet be able to take advantage of New Zealand's prime
tourist attractions.
About Slipper Island Resort Slipper Island is
located in the beautiful Coromandel Peninsula on the East Coast of New
Zealand. Slipper Island Resort can be reached by road (1.5 hours from
Auckland) with transfer to Slipper by boat from Tairua/Pauanui.
Transport to and from the island by helicopter or light aircraft takes
just 30 minutes from Auckland. The island has its own airstrip. Guests
can choose to visit any of the numerous tourist centres located within
easy flying distance of the island.
Weddings
Slipper Island is a private island a few miles off the east coast of
the Coromandel Peninsula. The Island has a small private resort complex
consisting of bure style chalets and a lodge. Surrounded by crystal clear water
and sparkling white sand, the island offers a spectacular location for the
perfect beach wedding. Wedding packages including accommodation, ceremony,
catering, celebrant, photographer/videographer, transfers to and from the island
and a selection of optional extras make Slipper Island a unique and
unforgettable location for a relaxed beach style wedding.
Activities
Slipper Island offers a wide range of activities for all ages including
diving, snorkelling, wind-surfing, deep sea fishing, rock-fishing, fishing,
canoeing, wreck-diving, day cruises to local points of interest, and island
walks. A water taxi is available for day trips to nearby Pauanui / Tairua for
golf, shopping and native bush walks and other surf beaches on the Coromandel.
Accommodations
The chalets are fully self-contained with separate kitchen and
bathroom. All linen and bedding is provided. Guests need only bring food and
beverages. Situated on the water's edge in Home Bay, there is a combination of
single and two bedroom chalets in a private complex. Each chalet is surrounded
by decks with individual barbecues for outdoor cooking and an easy relaxed
holiday.
All year round guests can enjoy the island's majestic scenery and
breath-taking views from the decks surrounding the lodge. The cooler evenings
are spent by the open fire, sipping cocktails and mulled wine and enjoying the
"catch of the day."
Rates The rate quoted as NZ $2100 per week is for a
one-bedroom chalet during peak season. Please see below for detailed rates.
