Visas:
You will need a visa to go to Kenya unless you are a citizens of Commonwealth
countries (except Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, and British passport
holders from India, Pakistan and Bengla Desh), Denmark, Ethiopia, Germany, the
Republic of Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, and Uruguay. Visas
are available at the airport in Nairobi or at your local embassy. If there is
no Kenyan embassy where you live, visas can be obtained at the British
Embassy. The costs of visas vary per nationality, and usually increase with
the distance from Kenya. If you are only passing through or staying in Kenya
just for a few days you can get a transit visa at the border for $10. Visitors
who do not need a visa will be issued a visitor pass upon entry valid for up
to 6 months. Visas are valid for three months. There are no multiple entry
visas available. However, as long as yours is still valid, you can visit
Uganda and Tanzania and return to Kenya without applying for a new visa.
Health risks: Frequent outbreaks of cholera and malaria are endemic
in Kenya outside Nairobi. Recently there has been an outbreak of hemorrhagic
Rift Valley Fever resulting in some human deaths.
