Neck State Park - Sandy beaches, marshlands
and heavily wooded bluffs comprise the peninsula formed by the North East and
Elk Rivers, and the Chesapeake Bay, where this park is located. Description of

Fort Frederick State Park - Site of
Maryland's frontier defense during the French and Indian War (1754-1763).

Gathland State Park - Once the mountain home
of George Alfred Townsend, a Civil War journalist. It is the site of a unique
collection of buildings and structures that he designed and constructed, some
of which have been restored.

Greenbrier State Park - A multi-use park
providing many kinds of recreation with the Appalachian Trail passing through
the park and a 42-acre man-made lake and beach. Features, reservations and

Hart-Miller Island State Park - Located in
the Baltimore County waters of the Chesapeake Bay near the mouth of Middle
River and is accessible only by boat.

Herrington Manor State Park - Located within
Garrett State Forest development began in the 1930's with the aid of the
Civilian Conservation Corps. A 53-acre lake was formed by damming Herrington
Creek, and ten cabins were erected on a wooded knoll above the lake.

Seneca Creek State Park - The park, comprised
of 6,300 acres, extends along 14 scenic miles of Seneca Creek, as it winds its
way to the Potomac River in Montgomery County.

Smallwood State Park - Includes marina on
Mattawoman Creek, a tributary of the Potomac River, fishing, picnicking,
camping, and a historic area.

South Mountain State Park - Historic park
with 10,000 acres for hiking along the Appalachian Trail. History and

St. Clements Island State Park - The 40 acre
park contains a memorial cross dedicated to the memory of the first

St. Marys River State Park - Situated at the
northern end of the St. Mary's River watershed, the park shows a wide range of
habitats, from wooded acres and fields to swamps and small streams. History

Susquehanna State Park - Riverside park three
miles northwest of Havre de Grace, with fishing, camping, and several
historical sites including the water-powered Rock Run Mill. Grain is still
ground at the mill in much the same way as it was in 1794.

Swallow Falls State Park - Along the
Youghiogheny River, with a 63-foot waterfall. Includes campground rules and
