Africa
- Africa has some of the most beautiful islands in the world available for
rent. One of her most famous island regions isn't on the continent proper,
but sits on the Indian Ocean. The Seychelles has a few decidedly upscale
resorts for rent and Mauritius is cosmopolitan in its own right. On
mainland Africa, most accommodation is built to blend in with the local
environment. When exploring your options, don't be confused by the
expression “tented accommodation” – this usually means luxurious
insect-proof tents, permanently pitched on concrete bases, often including
ensuite bathrooms with flush toilets. Tented accommodation gives visitors
a nature experience without any of the discomforts normally associated
with camping.
Asia
- Asia's massive continent hosts some of the most talked about islands in
the world; the Maldives. The atolls of the Maldives have underwater coral
gardens, pure white sand and over a thousand Robinson Crusoe islands.
Atolls are a type of coral island, surrounded by lagoons with different
depths and infinite shades of blue and turquoise. The diving and
snorkelling of the Maldives is not to be missed. Asia also offers an
island for rent in India, of all places. Island rich Indonesia also boasts
rental islands.
Canada
- With thousands of kilometers of Atlantic and Pacific coastline, and over
a million inland lakes, Canada is an island lover's dream. Popular island
regions include the coast of Nova Scotia, BC's Pacific shores, and the
archipelagos of Ontario's Georgian Bay and Thousand Islands regions. In
Canada, the summers are hot, nature is at its unspoiled best, and private
island prices are lower than almost anywhere else in the world.
Caribbean
- Caribbean private islands for rent typically have several things in
common: palm trees, sandy beaches, and warm, tropical waters. In short,
they're the tropical islands of everyone's dreams. Whether you're
searching for a two-palm tree desert island, or something large enough to
have its own seat at the UN, you're sure to find what you're looking for
in our Caribbean listings.
Central
America - The reason why many island searchers fail to find a
Caribbean property is price. This is much less of a problem in Central
America where prices are often only a third of what they are further out
in in the Caribbean. The Spanish-speaking countries from Mexico to Panama
are dotted with idyllic islands, often with white sandy beaches, fringed
with palm trees.
Europe
- Islands for rent in Europe are both rich in history, and varied in
natural features. Mediterranean islands tend to be hilly, and enjoy a dry,
warm climate. Private islands in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France
have a more "settled" feel, with many of them featuring
grasslands, meadows and old homes or farmhouses. In Scandinavia, private
islands are found in the numerous lakes or along the coast, and typically
boast homes or cottages tucked away amongst the trees.
South
Pacific
- Private islands for rent in Oceania (Australia, New Zealand, and the
South Pacific) are some of the most beautiful and remote places on Earth.
A South Pacific island paradise… is there anything that more closely
resembles Eden?
South
America - Generally not uppermost in people's minds when thinking of
the great island regions of the world, yet this remarkable continent
boasts some of the Earth's most beautiful island properties. From the
tropical waters of the Caribbean and Brazilian coasts, to the more
temperate locales of southern Chile and Argentina, South American islands
offer beauty, affordability and a certain exoticism that comes from lying
somewhat off the beaten path.
United States
- From the large, forest-covered islands off Alaska's shores, to the palm
tree laden keys of southern Florida, American private islands are as
diverse as the country itself. And, while it's certainly possible to spend
millions, private islands for rent in the US can still be purchased on a
middle class budget.
