Question: Hello, We are visiting San Miguel in June. We would like to fly to Pacific coast at the end of our trip - maybe PV or Manzanillo, June 27 or 28. We need to be in Mexico City to fly home on Tuesday, June 1. I saw some tickets on AeroMexico for $35, but the taxes were very high(over $200) If I buy tickets in Mexico, would I save on the tax portion? Do you have any great packages, or just air for these dates?
Answer: While we don’t actually book airfares. I can tell you that taxes on airfares quoted online depend upon the country of departure & not your country of residence. Therefore if you book a ticket leaving from a city in Mexico you would be quoted Mexican taxes on that ticket which would be unlikely to change if you booked the ticket in Mexico. However from my personal experience I’ve found that it usually is possible to get a good deal on airfares from a local travel agent in the actual country of your departure.
