Lodging in Buenos Aires

Name: Ryan

Question: What area in Buenos Aires should I stay in?

Answer: The part of town you want to be in is Recoleta. It’s a very nice part of town renowned for its French style of architecture (Eva Peron cemetery) and it’s also where a good portion of the city’s nightlife is located. Unfortunately it’s also the most expensive part of town, though that doesn’t mean as much in Buenos Aires as in some other cities. Alternatively Palermo Viejo is another nice area of town and is located close to Recoleta. You should stay out of the downtown (Florida Street) district and out of Congresso as they can both be dangerous at night. Puerto Madero is an alright part of town and there is some nightlife concentrated in the area. Belgrano is another area to consider and a personal favourite of mine.

Summary: Recoleta. If the hotels are too expensive, Palermo Viejo or Belgrano.
