This Riyad, situated in the heart of the Medina, is located 5 minutes
walk from the main square of Marrakech, Jama El Fna.
The origins of this Riyad date back to the 14th C. The property was sold off in the 1950s and divided up into 5 houses. The present owner has re-established and enlarged these houses to create one property. Due to the very nature of the design, it offers corners of privacy and tranquillity. The property has a large collection of rare Moroccan artefacts and an important collection of Berber costumes. Many other objects of Islamic art and Asian furniture make this property an excellent example of a beautifully restored Riyad.
As it is based around 5 separate houses, all interlinked, the descriptions below are broken down into 5 sections.
1)GRAND PATIO
- A large courtyard shaded by orange and lemon trees. On the ground floor there is a large sitting room with an open fireplace and a dining room, again with an open fireplace. The dining room can seat up to 15 persons.
- On the ground floor there are:
- A single bedroom with shower bathroom.
- A double bedroom with an adjacent shower bathroom.
- On the first floor there are, A double suite A/C - Double bedroom with bathroom, gallery, sitting room.
- A further suite A/C Two double bedrooms, loggia.
2)LA SUITE CHAOUEN.
- First floor suite. Double bedroom A/C bathroom and separate childs bedroom.
3)MAISON BLEU.
- A ground floor suite with a sitting room, a dining room, patio and terrace, own entrance. Double bedroom A/C - bathroom.
4)RIYAD DU PALMIER.
- Own separate entrance.
- Ground floor:
- Large patio with palm trees and 2 alcoves. Second patio with pool.
- Sitting/dining room with TV and a terrace.
- Double bedroom with en suite shower bathroom.
- Double bedroom A/C bathroom, balcony.
- Double bedroom A/C bathroom.
- Double bedroom A/C Bathroom, large sittingroom air-conditioned, Balcony.

Clients requiring extra meals poses no problems and the prices are generally in the region of $25 per person for a dinner.
Liquor and wines are readily available in Marrakech and these are charged on consumption.
Tipping is appreciated as wages in Morocco are very low, $ 5 USD a day is the minimum wage ! The staff are very helpful and friendly and nothing is ever a problem.
