This is a good base for exploring the Morvan regional park to the north and a nearer fascination is the Celtic dig and museum at Beuvray. The wine-growing region of Burgundy is to the east, with a visit to Beaune making a wonderful day trip, and the Roman and Mediaeval town of Autun is just to the north-east.
The interior is neat and simply furnished and cosy; the living room has a compact kitchen area in one corner, a large dining table and sofa and armchairs by the big open fireplace. South-facing, there is plenty of space for sitting outside.
