Exterior
Description This 15th
century chateau, complete with turret, is furnished with both modern and
antique pieces. The accommodation includes an independent one-bedroom
cottage. The property is situated on a hill surrounded by vineyards and
enjoys a fantastic view of the countryside. The property includes a large,
beautifully landscaped garden equipped with nice outdoor furniture. There
is an enclosed swimming pool (12m x 6m) open from May through September,
weather permitting. The grounds also include a helicopter landing pad and
a tennis court. There is ample parking. There are horseback riding
facilities and a golf course within a five kilometer radius of the
property. The nearest town is La Reole (10 minutes). Bordeaux and its
airport are an hour’s drive. The Arachon coast is a two-hour drive.
Located away from the town, the chateau is reached via a main road. Three
hours of daily maid service are included five days per week. Although not
included in the price, the services of a chef and babysitter can also be
arranged. There is space for a helicopter to land.
Interior
Description There
are three floors + basement. Ground floor: To the right of the entrance
there is a beautifully furnished living room with stone fireplace. It
leads directly into a small kitchen with access to a veranda. To the left
of the entrance is a dining room. A spiral staircase leads to the first
floor. First floor: Off of the corridor, there is a master bedroom with a
four-poster double bed and en suite bathroom with shower, and a
twin-bedded room (appropriate for children). There is also a king bedroom
with an en suite bathroom with sunken tub. A staircase leads to the second
floor. Second floor: There is queen bedroom with an en suite bathroom with
tub, and a second queen bedroom with an en suite bathroom with shower.
Third floor: There is one double bedroom with an en suite bathroom with
tub. Basement: There is a game room. Cottage: The cottage has one
twin-bedded room and an open-plan kitchen/dining room. It has a bathroom
with shower. The amenities include: central heating, barbecue, microwave,
dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, CD player, stereo, incoming/outgoing
telephone, and satellite TV. A fax machine, Internet access, and answering
machine can be arranged. Note: The windows do not have screens. Extra
service include: babysitting, chef service, tennis coach, masseur, and
chauffeur.
