orange with robin’s egg-blue shutters, Domaine des Lavandes is quite
striking. The restored farmhouse is situated at the heart of a 60-acre
estate and enjoys complete peace and seclusion. There are 30 acres of
vineyards, as well as beds of lavender and groves of olives immediately
surrounding the house. The house opens onto sunny terraces shaded by a
wisteria covered pergola. There is a swimming pool (12m x 5m; 0.8-2.5m
deep) with its own terrace, a summer kitchen, and dining area. There is
also a separate wading pool (5m x 3m; 0.5m deep) for children. The nearby
village of Villedieu is just 3 km away. Vaison-la-Romaine (7 km), Orange
(36 km), Avignon (51 km) are also within easy reach. A caretaker lives on
the property. Access along 2km of dirt road. Covered parking is available.
Five days of weekly maid service are included in the price.
Interior
Description (399
m2) Two floors. Ground floor: The entrance hall leads into a dining room,
which opens onto the garden terrace and shaded outdoor dining area. There
is a foyer with fireplace and a large, recessed living room with ceilings
fan. The living room also opens onto the garden terrace. There is a
reading room with TV, DVD player, and stereo. The second entrance hall has
a separate WC and leads into the fully equipped kitchen (oven, microwave,
American refrigerator/freezer, and dishwasher). The kitchen opens onto a
side terrace. There is a laundry room with washing machine and dryer, plus
a pantry with large freezer. There is a bathroom with shower. The play
room, located in what was once the original kitchen, has a pool table and
table soccer. Stairs lead to the first floor: There are two twin-bedded
rooms. One has a ceiling fan and en suite bathroom (shower) and the other
has a ceiling fan and en suite bathroom (shower and separate WC). Stairs
lead to the second floor. Second floor: There are three double bedrooms
(twin beds pushed together). Two of the double bedrooms have en suite
bathrooms (tubs). There is one additional bathroom (shower) with separate
WC. Pool house: There is a kitchenette with stove, refrigerator/freezer,
and grill. The amenities include: TV, DVD player, stereo, telephone, fax
machine, intercom system, alarm system, barbecue/grill, table soccer, pool
table, and maid service.
