Exterior
Description Situated 80
meters from Vathias beach, this charming house is designed around a
central courtyard which provides sheltered outdoor seating and dining
space. Newly constructed in traditional Greek island style, the house is
surrounded by terraces with stunning views of the turquoise bay and green
hillsides. There is a spacious patio with a large dining table, stone
barbecue, and heated whirlpool. Vathias beach is a small inlet on the
northeast coast of the island. It is reached by car from Skopelos town (25
minutes). Most of the road is asphalt, but the final approach to the house
is unpaved and winding. The surrounding area is ideal for hiking. Further
north is the hamlet of Kalogeros. From here, there is a rough trail that
leads to the Neolithic tombs of Sedoukia and the highest point on the
island, Mount Delphi.
Interior
Description Two levels.
Main level: From the courtyard, the entrance leads into a spacious sitting
room and open plan kitchen. There is a corner fireplace and French doors
leading out to a sea-facing terrace. The living room is furnished with a
sofa and equipped with a satellite TV, DVD player, stereo, and
PlayStation. The long kitchen area is fully equipped with microwave and
dishwasher. The sitting/kitchen area is air conditioned. The bedrooms can
be accessed both from the courtyard and inside the house. There are two
twin-bedded room and two bathrooms with showers. Both bedrooms have air
conditioning and stereo/CD players. Upper level: There is a third bedroom
accessed via an exterior stone staircase from the courtyard. This small
double bedroom has French doors that lead out to a lovely balcony with
views of the beach and sea. The bedroom is equipped with air conditioning
and a stereo/CD player. Finally, an air conditioned gym, equipped with
weights and a treadmill, is available as of the 2004 season. The amenities
include: air conditioning (bedrooms and kitchen/sitting room only),
satellite TV, DVD player, stereo, PlayStation, microwave, dishwasher,
barbecue, and whirlpool. Additional amenities for which there is an extra
cost include: partial transfers (includes pick-up at Skiathos airport,
transfer to Skiathos port, and ferry tickets to Skopelos or Alonissos; 30
Euros per person); full transfers (includes pick-up at Athens airport,
transport to Agios Konstantinos port, and boat tickets to Skopelos or
Alonissos); cribs, high chairs, and extra beds.
