Description Built on the
hillside overlooking the sea, Villa Agios Petros has several levels of
terraces and gardens divided by handcrafted stone walls. It features local
building materials such as stone, brick, and carved wood. The spacious
rooms are decorated in a unique island style, including accents like
baskets, antique tools, and local handicrafts. Above the house, on the
upper terrace, there is a swimming pool and spacious deck for sunbathing.
On a slightly lower level, to the side of the house, there is a dining
area and barbecue with sweeping views of the cove and sea. A few steps
lead down to the main house, while the private studio, complete with
kitchenette, is situated a few steps beneath it. Villa Agios Petros is
located directly above the shingle beach of Agios Petros. From the bottom
of the property, a foot path leads straight to the beach. A further
15-minute walk leads over the hill to the lovely fishing village of Steni
Vala. Steni Vala is approximately 1.5 km away and has a quaint waterfront
lined with tavernas specializing in local seafood. There is a small
supermarket and local bus and taxi stops. From Steni Vala, water taxis
service the spectacular beach of Agios Dimitrios.
Interior
Description Two floors.
Main floor: The main entrance leads into a spacious living room with
comfortable sitting area and large dining table. The back wall of the
living room is made entirely of stone and has a corner fireplace. Double
French doors lead out to a large stone terrace, furnished with dining
table and comfortable seating, with fantastic views of the sea below. The
kitchen has open access to the dining/living room and is fully equipped
with modern amenities including a dishwasher. There is a small breakfast
table and door leading to the terrace. There is also a bathroom with
shower on this level. From the living room, a few stone steps lead to the
upper floor landing. Upper floor: Just off the landing there is an elegant
bathroom with tub. Adjacent to the bathroom there is a twin-bedded room
with tasteful furnishing and exposed beam ceilings. A double French door
leads out to a terrace. At the opposite end of the hall there is a master
bedroom, also with exposed beam ceilings, and an antique wrought iron
double bed. Here, double French doors lead to another terrace which has
easy access to the pool and sea views. Studio: Accessible via the stone
steps near the entrance to the main house, or from the main terrace, this
spacious studio is decorated in a style similar to that of the villa.
There is a double bed, a small kitchenette, and a bathroom with shower.
The amenities include: stereo/CD player, telephone (local calls only),
dishwasher, barbecue, and housekeeping (3 times per week, including linen
change, excluding Sundays). Additional amenities for which there is an
extra cost include: additional housekeeping, partial transfers (includes
pick-up at Skiathos airport, transfer to Skiathos port, and ferry tickets
to Skopelos or Alonissos; 30 Euros per person); full transfers (includes
pick-up at Athens airport, transport to Agios Konstantinos port, and boat
tickets to Skopelos or Alonissos); cribs, high chairs, and extra beds.
