Exterior
Description Built into a
steep hillside, this restored stone house enjoys sweeping views over the
White Mountains and the Askifou Plateau. Resembling a large converted
barn, the house has a spacious multi-level common area, making it ideal
for a group. Outdoor amenities include a swimming pool (36m2). Two flights
of stone steps lead down to a large terrace paved with flagstones and the
adjacent swimming pool and barbecue areas. The pool area has an outdoor
shower and WC. Scattered on the hillsides around the house, there are a
number of unoccupied village dwellings. There is a taverna and a small
grocery shop in the nearby village of Ammoudari (1.5 km). The nearest
beaches and complete services are located in Georgioupolis (20 km) and
Sfakia (18 km). A rental car is required.
Interior
Description (200m2) Three
levels. Main level: Via the main terrace, the entrance leads into a
spacious living/dining area with stone fireplace, satellite TV, and two
built-in sofa beds. From here, a few steps lead to a double bedroom with
wrought iron bed (2.2m long x 1.3m wide), corner Jacuzzi tub, and separate
en suite (screened off) WC. Returning to the living area, a wooden
staircase leads up to a second double bedroom (2.2m long x 1.3m wide),
this one with en suite bathroom (shower). At the opposite end of the
living area there is a charming small kitchen with a stable door leading
out to the terrace. The kitchen is equipped with a freezer, dishwasher,
and old stone oven. A wooden staircase leads to the upper floors. First
floor: There is a large double bedroom with double wrought iron bed frame
(2.2m long x 1.3m wide). Above the bedroom there is a spacious seating
area with a double sofa bed (2m long x 1.3m wide). Beyond this, additional
steps lead up to a gallery. Gallery: There is a large gallery bedroom with
four-poster double bed (2.2m long x 1.7m wide). Below the gallery there is
an antique tub and separate WC. There is also a second kitchen with range,
refrigerator/freezer, and dining area with satellite TV. The gallery opens
onto a large terrace. There is a washing machine located in the poolside
WC. All windows are equipped with screens. Please note: Sofa beds may vary
in size and comfort and may not be adequate for adults. The amenities
include: central heating, washing machine, dishwasher, CD player,
satellite TV, housekeeping. Additional amenities for which there is an
extra cost: cook service.
