Description Designed by a
contemporary architect, Villa Delfini incorporates white cubes and dry
rock walls. The structure is at once neoclassical and antique. The
furnishings and décor are tasteful, featuring both neoclassical and
contemporary styles. All furniture was custom designed. The split-level
house blends into its natural surroundings and overlooks the sea. There is
a sand and pebble beach a five-minute walk away. There is a restaurant
nearby that serves excellent local food from April to September. The villa
is 8 km from Hermoupolis, where there is an airport and port with daily
ferry service to Athens and the other Cyclade islands. Services in
Hermoupolis include a European hospital, restaurants, nightclubs, and
casino. Villa Delfini is one half mile from the port of Kini (20 minutes
on foot, 5 minutes by car), where there are a few stores and six or seven
restaurants. A car is required. Cars, scooters, and mopeds can easily be
rented on the island. The nearest bus stop is 1 km from the villa.
Mountain bikes are available for rental nearby. Although isolated, Villa
Delfini is a few hundred yards from a few individual vacation houses. The
surrounding landscape is dry and mountainous. There are a few goat farms
and olive groves nearby. Each room in the villa enjoys both the sounds of
goat bells and waves lapping at the shore. The property is terraced and
enclosed by a stone wall. The patio and terrace are equipped with a
barbecue, teak furniture, and two pergolas. Please note:Due to its
overall design, Villa Delfini is not recommended for young children or
individuals with physical limitations. Four hours of weekly maid service
are included twice a week. Additional maid service is also available upon
request. Although a cook is unavailable, the local restaurants do prepare
take-out meals. As there is no telephone, a cell phone is recommended.
Interior
Description 200m2 The
house is built on two levels. Each has direct outdoor access as the
property is on a slant. There are twelve steps leading up to the entry
level, and another twelve leading downstairs. All of the floors are
marble. The entry level has a WC and a spacious living room overlooking
both the sea and the mountains. There is a fully equipped kitchen with
washing machine, oven, American style coffee maker, and a juicer. A glass
wall protects the patio from the wind and leads to the air-conditioned
master bedroom equipped with king bed and en suite bathroom with oversized
marble tub. There is one additional separate WC on this floor. Downstairs,
there are three bedrooms, each with air-conditioning. Two of the bedrooms
have en-suite bathrooms shower. One of the bedrooms has a king-size bed,
while the other two have twin beds. There is a one full bathroom with
shower in the hall. Each bedroom has an individually controlled air
conditioner with thermostat. All windows are equipped with screen. There
is a separate laundry room. The amenities include central heating, air
conditioning in bedrooms, barbecue, dishwasher, washing machine, TV CNN
