Description Situated just
above the tiny fishing hamlet of Steni Vala (7 km east of Patiri), Villa
Demeter is surrounded by terraced gardens that include olive, lemon, and
almond trees. It has several outdoor sitting areas with sun, shade, and
views of the port of Steni Vala and the island of Peristera beyond. The
villa is accessed via a paved road that connects to the main coastal road.
Steni Vala and its environs make up one of the most picturesque areas of
Alonnisos. There are tavernas and a small supermarket at Steni Vala, from
where caiques (boats) depart for the beautiful beach at Aghios Dimitrios.
In high season, there is a bus connection to Patitiri. A rented boat can
be moored at the port of Steni Vala. From the villa, a small path descends
through the trees to a small beach next to the harbor; it's approximately
a 4-minute walk. Nearby Glyfa beach can also be reached on foot.
Interior
Description Ground Floor:
Main entrance; hallway with two sofa beds; kitchen/dining area with full
oven with four ring stove, coffeepot, kettle, and toaster; bathroom with
shower; a twin-bedded room with traditional fireplace, en suite bathroom
with shower. All ground floor rooms have access to the main terrace. 1st
Floor: a large double bedroom. Patio area at the side of the villa has a
stone barbecue. Amenities include: maid service once a week, TV, CD
player, barbecue, iron and ironing board. The closest sandy and shingle
(mix) beach is Steni Vala (300 meters). The Glyfa beach (pebbly) is 800
meters away. The Skiathos airport is about 60 minutes away by hydrofoil.
