Exterior
Description This lovely
property, encompassing 50 enclosed acres, is located on a hill south of
the city of Heraklion 12 km. Within the property are vineyards, olive
trees, fruit trees, aromatic trees and herbs. Also on the estate are
several animals, including ducks, geese, chickens, wild pigeons, horses,
cows, goats and boar. The estate includes two separate villas, each with
its own swimming pool - Villa Poseidon and Villa Zeus. They are 300 meters
away from each other. In addition, there is a separate location within the
estate with a swimming pool, where the housekeeper Stella can prepare
wonderful meals for guests. The meals can be served in this spot, or at
the villas for more privacy. This is a wonderful location for day trips to
the archeological sites such as the Palace of Knossos, the cities of
Heraklion, Agios Nikolaos, Rethymnon and Chania, as well as the beaches in
the south. The owner will organize one complimentary guided excursion per
week (free transportation with a private minivan; meals or tickets for
archaeological sights are an extra cost). The airport of Nikos Kazantzakis
is 18 km away. It is possible to take either a flight or ferry from Athens
to Heraklion or Chania. The owner of the property can arrange for airport
or port pickup in Heraklion or Chania with a 9-seat minivan. Rental cars
can always then be delivered to the villa. Villa Poseidon is traditionally
furnished with sofas, small side tables, a large dining table, etc. The
outdoor area has large terraces with vines and fruit trees with views of
the plain, the Zeus Mountain and the sea. The swimming pool is located on
the mountain and is surrounded by aromatic trees and herbs. There is
outside furniture for eating or just enjoying the view.
Interior
Description The
living/dining room has a fireplace, and there is also central heating
during the winter season. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric
stove, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer, coffee maker, toaster and all the
necessary utensils and cutlery. There are three air conditioned bedrooms:
a double bedroom with an en suite bathroom with shower and a loft with two
single beds; a single bedroom with a single bed; and a loft bedroom with
three single beds. There is another bathroom with tub and handheld
showerhead. Upon request there is a studio apartment available for a nanny
or butler with two single beds, a bathroom with shower, a dining/sitting
area, and a kitchenette. The following amenities are available upon
request for an extra charge: a computer, color printer, CD player,
horseback riding, traditional cook service, barbecues, TV, and a tour with
a traditional private train.
