Exterior
Description The entrance
to Villa Steni Vala leads directly out to a beautiful patio and barbecue
area shaded by an ancient olive tree. There is a stone dining table,
traditional barbecue, and sink. With its partial stone façade, the villa
blends nicely with its natural surroundings. The interior features high
quality woodwork, exposed beam ceilings, and slate floors. There is a
swimming pool (3m x 7m) with wonderful views. Villa Steni Vala is situated
above the cove of Agios Petros (500 m). A foot path leads from the
property directly to the beach. From the beach, another foot path leads to
the fishing village of Steni Vala (1 km), with its charming tavernas. In
high season, water taxis depart from the small port to Agios Dimitros, the
island’s most beautiful beach. Steni Vala also has a small beach of its
own, a mini market, and local bus and taxi service.
Interior
Description Two floors
plus Studio. Ground floor: The entrance leads into a spacious, open plan
living room/kitchen with a corner fireplace. The kitchen is well-equipped
and modern and has a large wooden dining table. In the back corner,
opposite the fireplace, is an alcove with a built-in single bed. A
decorative, painted wood screen nearby can be used to provide limited
privacy. Just next to the alcove there is a very small WC with sink. The
room is decorated with tasteful furniture and antique pieces and has
double French doors leading to a spacious terrace facing the sea. A stone
staircase leads to the first floor. First floor: There are two bedrooms.
The master bedroom has a double bed, en suite bathroom with a 3/4 tub (or
“hip bath”) and two French doors leading to balconies. One is a
sea-facing shared balcony while the other is a private balcony facing the
barbecue area and hillsides. The second bedroom has twin beds and double
French doors leading to the shared balcony. On the landing at the top of
the stairs there is a bathroom with shower and washing machine. Studio:
Accessed via an exterior staircase at the side of the house, the studio
has its own terrace with partial sea views. There is an open plan
living/dining area with a kitchenette. A low, stone partition divides the
sleeping area (equipped with a double bed) from the living areas. There is
one bathroom with shower off the sleeping area. The amenities include:
barbecue, satellite TV, stereo, CD player, washing machine, telephone
(local calls only), and housekeeping (3 hours per week, including linen
change, excluding Sundays).
