Exterior
Description Situated on a
gently sloping hillside surrounded by olive groves, this property is
completely hidden from the road. It features stone walls, large verandas,
and spacious grounds. Inside, there are terracotta floors and high,
exposed beam ceilings. There is a main house, Villa Velanio, and a private
guest cottage, Stafilos Cottage. There is a swimming pool positioned on
the edge of the hillside. The pool area enjoys views of the Skopelos
harbor. Stafilos Cottage is tucked away amidst the olive trees. Villa
Velanio is only 2 km from Skopelos town and 3 km from some of the
island’s best beaches. Skopelos town offers a full array of restaurants,
shops, and cafes. The walk into town takes 15 minutes, while Stafilos and
Velanio beaches can be reached in 45 minutes.
Interior
Description The main
house is built on three levels with the sitting room in the middle. The
main entrance leads to a very spacious open plan kitchen/dining/sitting
room. A natural stone wall at the far end of the room sets off the
handsome fireplace. French doors overlook the pool and sea beyond. There
is a spacious terrace equipped for outdoor dining. A roomy, well-equipped
kitchen with breakfast bar sits off to the side and has its own door to
the terrace for ease of serving al fresco meals. A half flight of stairs
from the entrance door leads down to a twin bedded room with a terrace
and, next door, a bathroom with shower. Another half flight of stairs
upwards from the sitting room leads to another two bedrooms. The master
bedroom at the front of the house has a double bed and spacious wooden
terrace facing the town and sea. The second bedroom on this level has twin
beds and faces a sunny rear terrace. In between the two bedrooms there is
a bathroom with tub. The fourth bedroom has a separate entrance and is
situated adjacent to and below the main house. This studio is equipped
with a double bed and has and en suite bathroom with shower. The amenities
include: TV, stereo/CD player, and housekeeping (3 times per week,
including linen change). Additional amenities for which there is an extra
cost include: additional housekeeping, partial transfers (includes pick-up
at Skiathos airport, transfer to Skiathos port, and ferry tickets to
Skopelos or Alonissos; 30 Euros per person); full transfers (includes
pick-up at Athens airport, transport to Agios Konstantinos port, and boat
tickets to Skopelos or Alonissos); cribs, high chairs, and extra beds.
